The Spherical System is a somatic dance practice and choreographic creation tool developed from the ground up by choreographer Fernando Domínguez. This workshop is intended tobe video documented professionally by filmmaker Joaquín Loustaunau, as part of the research work that Domínguez carries out at the University of CODARTS Rotterdam and the University of the Arts FONTYS Tilburg. Both European universities in the Netherlands. The documentary will have its premiere during the COMMA Festival 2023 festival in the city of Rotterdam on May 25, 2023 and will later be part of the page under construction of thesphericalsystem.com

The Spherical System
movement creation workshopFocused on dancers, performers, actors and choreographers with experience in body movement and/or contemporary dance.The spherical system consists of the visualization of a specific diagram called "spherical body". This one, made up of spheres, ropes and a cube.
Through somatic exercises the participants begin to generate specific tasks that together generate actions and in turn choreographic sequences.
The spherical system and its visualization is an excellent tool to search for new options and reorganize patterns and preconceived aesthetics of movement, which creatively expands improvisation and the creation of choreographic material.
